Getting Here-British Columbia

Out For Adventure Wilderness Tours Ltd. is located in the Village Square at 685 Heriot Bay Rd, Units 4&5 in Quathiaski Cove on Quadra Island, British Columbia. Its in the same complex as the Quadra Island's only gas station and is beside Aromas Cafe.
Quadra Island is accessible by a short ten minute ferry ride from Campbell River, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. If you are joining us on the Orca Encounters tour you can meet us either at our base on Quadra Island (parking is available here) or our departure dock in Campbell River.

Getting to Campbell River
Vancouver Island is accessible from the mainland of British Columbia and Washington, United States by ferry and air. Campbell River is located on central Vancouver Island 153 km (approximately 2 hours) north from Nanaimo or 264 km (approximately 3.5 hours) from Victoria on the Island Highway 19.

Getting to your departure point in BC

Getting to Quadra Island
Quadra Island is approximately a 10 minute ferry ride from Campbell River. The ferry leaves Campbell River every hour on the half hour. The terminal is located on the Island Highway 19 in downtown Campbell River. For details on the ferry schedule, see the BC Ferry website: www.bcferries.ca. When you arrive on Quadra Island, our Outfitter Store and trip base is located just up the hill and around the corner from the ferry terminal at the Village Square Plaza, beside the gas station (685 Heriot Bay Rd.) A five minute walk or just seconds drive from the ferry terminal.

Airlines:
Scheduled flights on Pacific Coastal Airlines arrive daily at the Campbell River and District Regional Airport from Vancouver and Victoria Airport (car rentals are available at Campbell River airport). Air Canada flies into Vancouver and Victoria. WestJet flights are available to Vancouver, Victoria and Comox (about 45 minutes south of Campbell River).

Bus lines:
Greyhound services mainland British Columbia and Vancouver Island. Service is available from Vancouver or Victoria to Campbell River and beyond.

Ferry Service:
BC Ferries runs scheduled trips with both vehicle and walk-on passenger service between ports on British Columbia's mainland and Vancouver Island. Victoria Clipper, MV Coho and Washington State Ferries run trips from Washington to Victoria.

Car Rentals:
Car rental service is available at the Campbell River airport with Budget Car Rental.

Taxi Service:
If you need a ride from the airport to your hotel in Campbell River call the Airporter, they will deliver you to most local hotels for about $15 Cad
/person. To meet us on the morning of the tour, call one of the taxi services. If staying on Quadra Island you should contact the Quadra Taxi the night before to make arrangements for early morning schedules.

Getting Here Ontario

Our base in Ontario is located near Haliburton in the Haliburton Highlands, about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Toronto. We recommend meeting us at the tour launch site to avoid departure delays. Parking is available at the launch sites. (Fees are included in our Algonquin Park tours).

Airlines into Toronto:
Scheduled flights arrive daily at the Pearson International Airport from destinations all over the globe. It is about a 3 hour drive to Algonquin Park from Toronto. Airlines flying to Toronto include Air Canada, WestJet, Canadian, Air American, US Air, British Airways, Air France, Lufthansa, Swiss Air and Alitalia. Car rentals and bus or taxi service are available from Pearson Airport.

Bus lines:
Ontario Northland has daily service to Huntsville from downtown Toronto (610 Bay Street). Cost is $41.03/adult for one way. See website for schedule.

Train:
Services are available into Toronto with VIA Rail and into Huntsville from Toronto with Ontario Northland. Cost from Toronto to Huntsville with Ontario Northland is $41.89/adult for one way. Service is available daily except for Saturdays. Toronto train station is the Union Station at 65 Front Street West. See website for schedule.

British Columbia SceneDriving to Algonquin Park’s West Gate From Toronto:
(Time: Approximately 3 1/2 hrs)
Hwy 401 East or West to Hwy 400 North to Barrie.
Distance 66 km to Barrie, then take Hwy 11 North to Huntsville.
Distance 112 km to Huntsville, then take Hwy 60 (East) to the Algonquin Park West Gate. Distance from Huntsville to Algonquin Park approximately 35 kilometers.
