The Johnstone Strait, Nomadic Sea Kayak Journey Begins In Campbell River, BC Trip Description: Multi-day sea kayaking adventure focusing on seeing Killer Whales from our sea kayaks and from shore. Nomadic (or moving) style of sea kayak trip - moving through Orca territory camp by camp in the wilderness. Includes some short hikes, camping, campfires and a hike to a remote research outpost overlooking the Robson Bight Whale Reserve.
This sea kayaking with Orca expedition in British Columbia's inside passage begins when we meet in Campbell River. Our gear is quickly loaded into our shuttle van and we are off for a scenic drive through North Vancouver Island's lush temperate rain forest to Telegraph Cove. Telegraph Cove is where we meet our water taxi that will give us a short marine tour on route to our first campsite. You are now in Orca territory, Johnstone Strait - home of the Northern Resident Killer Whales or Orcas. Sea Kayaking - Whales, Bald Eagles and AdventureSea kayaking with Killer Whales in Johnstone Strait, Vancouver Island, British Columbia is an experience that rivals any vacation you have had to date. We often see many animals on this trip other than Killer Whales, including Bald eagles, Mink, Minke Whales, Humpback Whales, Sea Lions, Seals and many more.
