Penn Battle 2 Reels – Overview
The Penn Battle 2 reel series is a really popular series of spinning reels on the market today. Its ball bearings, all six, are sealed rather than shielded. This means extra protection from the elements giving you a longer lasting, better working reel. Penn’s number one customer service issue is dry, corroded bearings due to salt water. Shielded bearings do a good job protecting from those elements, but sealed does an even better one.
The Penn Battle 2 reels are all equipped with the HT-100 washer drag system. Its silky smooth feel improve control when fighting fish. There has been some debate whether or not you want to grease your HT-100 washers to make your drag even smoother, but according to this post it appears Penn recommends it.
